As a non-profit organization, we rely solely on fundraisers and donations to support our operations and facilities.
In addition to the usual repairs a complex of over 100 century-plus old buildings requires, the camp ground is in the midst of a project to secure its future and help mitigate flooding in Des Plaines. The 2007 and 2008 flooding caused extensive damage to the grounds, facilities, and cottages. In 2012, several cottages will be elevated as part of a pilot project. Ultimately, our goal is to elevate the entire camp ground, raising the buildings out of harm’s way and allowing more flood storage for the Des Plaines River.
